Slowed down
Yep, I’ve been remiss in my writing. Partly because the flu had me so tired and partly because I was busy with two other things. Keeping an eye (webcam) on Wayne while he goes through his recovery from hip surgery (exercises are most painful). When I did have any energy, we were either playing games on FB or I was working with the garden in AMV.

Although we did go dancing in SecondLife, but that just means using an automatic dance Hud so I could rest during that.
The water leak: turns out that long ago someone used the wrong size pipe with the wrong size valve in the water intake in the house. When we had the freeze last fall, it apparently had just “popped off”. Water was just going underground from where the valve had been. The plumping service replaced the line with the right sizes and re-routed it into the basement with a new cut-off for the whole house. Amazingly, they got it done in one day and I have a new cut-off for the house in the basement. I think the old one was just for the kitchen and bath.
I’m downsizing (Wayne thinks I should call it right-sizing) as much as I can. Yesterday the senior center got a whole load of acrylic paints I had – nearly all unopened. I’ve got a box of craft papers to give them somewhere around the house.
But I am not going anywhere today. It’s chill, damp and rainy out and not the sort of well I want to subject myself to when getting over an illness. I am doing my writing while Wayne’s home help is getting his breakfast. She has one day left and then he will be (mostly) on his own again. His inlaws bring him food that he just has to heat up, so he will be in good shape. He is starting to practice using just the cane instead of the walker a bit now.
I am having my breakfast of oatmeal, peanut butter, and a little brown sugar. I am trying to get back to my normal routine again. I did pretty well yesterday.
Transcribing cassette tapes I had (and others I was given by my sister) to mp3. Listening to my mum reading stories to my daughter and some of my daughter talking to herself while quite young. A couple of tapes had been copied and one side had been recorded over so I have to sort that out. But once digitized, they will be accessible as long as computers exist I think.
