Minecraft Sunday

Today we chose to play Minecraft most of the day. We had started a long long tunnel and the goal was to make it back to the zero starting point which we did. I showed W the warehouse I have had there for a long time, the “Palace”, the little retirement villages and the Villager town I made (and put villagers in) that was based on the Pharaoh game.

It has been a long time since I started the Palace and it was never finished as far as the color stacks, so W helped me put in more of the colored glass and colored concrete blocks. That was fun and then I decided to do the top floor interior building in magenta glass and pink glass alternating. That didn’t get finished.

A small adventure. I took him into the Nether through the portal nearby. It has changed a lot since I was there last. There are inhabitants that weren’t there the last time I was – in fact it was empty as far as I knew. So it was a bit of a surprise to find out how many new mobs were in the game. Anyhow I showed him around and bit and then we were supposed to go back through the portal. I made it through but for some reason he didn’t. I was asking for the numbers, but he didn’t realize he was still in the Nether and so we couldn’t find each other. I went to the numbers he gave me, but he wasn’t there — so I asked W to share screen in Discord with me.

So I found out he was still in the Nether. I was debating whether to go in and get him, but decided it would be easier to tell him how to build a Nether Portal. (we are playing in Creative mode). So he got the Obsidian blocks and the Fire Charge and built a portal. He got out, but ended up under a mountain. So then I instructed him how to dig upwards (lighting his way) and get up to ground level. After that, I had him find the zero meridian so he could find the train tracks back to the beginning. So W had a big adventure today. Well, we both did because I had to find out where he came through the portal after finding out he had not actually gone through it.

After that I worked on building a bridge and some other things while he napped. But W is really enjoying it and is always eager to play.

And the other day, we went on VR Chat again. I found I had saved a link for VR Craft home where it is like a Minecraft type world. So we started building and stayed there for a while before we left. Before that we visited a train world, and the Frog world and another weird place. In the Frog world and the weird place, it was hard to locate each other once we were in. Apparently I have several accounts… one started in Oculus, one started in Steam and one other by itself. I will have to dig them all out and link them up. Otherwise it will get confusing.

We had a great time though; and once the noise is cut back, it is a lot of fun exploring. I’d like to learn how to build my own home place in VR Chat sometime. Right now, there is too much to do anyhow.
